RATES & INSURANCE
Do you accept insurance? What are your fees?
This is an important question because you want to make sure that you can afford counseling services.
I am able to accept several different types of insurance. I update this list regularly as I am able to accept additional insurances.
A few of the major insurances I accept are:
- Aetna
- Blue Care Network
- Blue Cross/Blue Shield
- Cofinity
- Medicare
- Optum
- United Healthcare
- Priority Health
- UBH
If you have health insurance, services may be covered in part or in full by your insurance company or employee benefit plan. Please call the toll free number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
- Do I have mental health or substance abuse service benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- Do I have a co-pay and how much is it for counseling services?
- How many sessions per year does my insurance cover?
If I do not have a contract with your insurance, I can see you as an out of network provider or you can choose to pay for your appointments out of pocket. I ask that you pay for services at the time of your appointment. If you have out of network insurance benefits, I can give you a superbill which includes the diagnosis, service provided and cost of services. You would submit the superbill to your insurance to request reimbursement. Your insurance may or may not reimburse you for the rendered services. If you have any questions about what your insurance covers or whether or not you can see me, please call your insurance company to ask questions.
A breakdown of my fees for those who do not have insurance or qualify for a sliding fee is listed below:
- $210 – initial intake assessment / consultation – 60 minutes
- $160 – 60 minute therapy session
- $250 Substance Abuse Assessment for Court/Attorney
- $450 Secretary of State Assessment
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker specializing in working with adult clients with treatment issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, drug addiction, stress disorders, anger management and relationship problems. The majority of my career has been working as an outpatient therapist for community mental health which has given me experience in working with clients with very complicated clinical needs.
I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and I utilize a holistic strength-based approach employing traditional therapy approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and talk therapy. I have been a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor for over 15 years and have worked with people with addiction needs for the duration of my career.
I earned my Masters of Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2000. My Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology is from Northern Michigan University.
Finding the right therapist is the single most vital factor in a successful therapeutic experience. My clients often tell me they like my sense of humor, ability to be down to earth and feel like they can be open with me without fear of being judged in any way. My approach will always be to put you first, learn your unique personal story and work on what is most important to you.
